Architectural Feature narrative & optional career project

1.1.4 Narrative & Conclusion Qs
Use Google Classroom to complete and turn in the narrative and conclusion questions for Activity 1.1.4 Architectural Feature.  Write everything on the google doc provided.  It is due by the end of the day Tuesday.  Once you click TURN IN, you'll lose edit rights, so be sure that you're finished.

1.2.1 Career Exploration
Activity 1.2.1 can be found on myPLTW.org; it is a career exploration that I'm offering as an optional assignment.  Its definitely worthwhile, but I'm looking ahead and making sure we haev enough time to design.  It is worth 25 points.  If you choose not to do it, there is no penalty, it won't count toward your grade, and will appear as "No Grd" on the portal.

Great job on the projects!  Check back soon for a slideshow of pics!

HW 9-4: Most significant in history

On Its Learning, there is a discussion forum called "Most Significant in History"

By Friday night 11:59pm:
Find and post a picture and description of what you consider the most significant civil engineering / architectural feat in history.  (Start a new thread)  Make your subject useful and descriptive.  Your name is already attached to the post, and "most significant in history" is redundant.

By Monday morning 8:00am:
Vote (with a reply) for which has the largest influence on society (besides your own) and explain why.

Student Info Survey

To get to the survey, you must be logged in to your @medwayschools.org google account.

If it says "You Need Permission" then you are probably logged in under a different account.  This can happen at times when browsers keep you logged in across different tabs.  Log out of your other account, and log back in.

Not sure which account you're logged in under?
  1. Go to google.com
  2. Click on the icon in the top right
  3. Log out of your other account.
  4. Log in using your @medwayschools.org account.
  5. Navigate back to the blog, and click the link for the survey.
By logging in, the survey automatically collects your login name (not your password).  A verified, password protected account also lets us use this tool to quiz in the future.

Today students completed the Marshmallow Challenge. <--Click Here to see them in action.

Tom Wujec presents some surprisingly deep research into the "marshmallow problem"-- a simple team-building exercise that involves spaghetti, one yard of tape, and a marshmallow.  Who can build the tallest tower?  And why does a surprising group always beat the average?
